Instructions

Writing a story in Personify is as easy and fun as filling out a 3 part mad-lib.

The first part sets the stage to describe the situation, circumstance or event when something happens.

The default prompt is “When” which can be changed to a few other options.

The second part describes what the user intends to do which typically comprises of the action they take and their motivation using the default prompt “I want to”.

The last part of the mad-lib asks you to describe the goal or outcome your user is working to achieve starting with the prompt “so that..”

Once you’re done filling out all three sections hit “Create” to collapse all three sections into one, well written story.

By switching the toggle to “create more” you’ll be able to write multiple stories without leaving the story editor.

Each story can be assigned an emoji to map the users sentiment. The color coding is mapped to each emoji, which can be further overridden. Learn more about the emoji picker here.

The format

Story writing in Personify follows the job story format from the jobs to be done framework. It’s far superior to user stories in many ways and it’s typically written on a epic or initiative level.
